The Knife

With every passing moment darkness falls,
Shrouding my aching heart with heavy dusk,
'Till I can see thee no more.
Where is my light that shone so bright?
From whence did these dark clouds of tears roll in?
I see nothing, all sounds are mute.
This ticking clock ticks on and on
The pain within my heart's acute..

The Nymph

Across strange countries I have journeyed,
Far away from home.
Amongst the bright stars I have travelled,
Yet always felt alone.
Whilst I walked one day, far away,
Amongst the forests green,
There came to me some music
Ethereal as dreams.
It winged its way to my ears
Upon a sparkling wind,
Dodging trees of every kind
From Oak to Tamarind.
I saw it not, yet still I knew
That it did sing for me,
`Twas music of a heart and soul
So happy and so free.
I rose and walked most quietly
To find its beauteous source,
Beside me ran a sparkling stream,
I followed its winding course.
Down there amongst the rocks and trees
There lay a deep, clear pool,
Within it bathed a sight so pure
In waters sweet and cool.
The bronzen nymph did sing a song
Of beauty and of love,
So moving was it that I jumped
Down from the ledge above.
She laughed and smiled as I rose
Up from my watery world,
She took my hand and in my heart
New dreams of love unfurled.
Into her eyes my soul was drawn
Our bodies moved as one,
Our lips aflame, our thoughts the same
Our dance went ever on.
We did not see the darkening shape
That moved above our heads,
It flew down swiftly from the sky
With scales of burning red.
I felt the cold claws grab my clothes
And pull me far above,
My sweet nymph cried and called out loud:
"Come back, come back, my love!"
Through dark skies the Dragon flew
To lands I never saw,
Oer cliffs that lay in wintry climes
Where hard ice would not thaw.
He left me there upon a hill
Soaked in rain and sleet,
I cried a while in sheer despair
And looked down to my feet.
The rain did gather down below
To form a rippling pool,
I leant down far to peer within
Een though I felt a fool.
As my fingers touched the waves
A thought skipped through my mind,
I called into the watery world
I knew not what Id find.
A stirring of the waters threw
Me flying in surprise,
Up from the muddy wastes once more
My body did arise.
I moved up to my whirling pool
And saw there deep within,
An image of my darling nymphs
Black hair and bronzen skin.
I whispered softly words of love
To my angel down below,
She looked around and saw me then
Her face began to glow.
I felt a strange warmth fill me now
A purpose made anew,
I said now surely to my love
"I shall return to you."
Scooping water in my pouch
I stood and walked away,
I travelled on into the night
Seeking the light of day.
For years Ive journeyed distant lands
Yet never felt alone,
For every night I took my pouch
And heard her soft, sweet tones.
I travel still and know that soon
My love and I will meet,
Though I am cold and lonely, soon
My life will be complete.

Words Found

Yea a thousand words
Have not the power
To speak of my love
For thee o star,
O light divine
That lights my soul
That fills my heart
With joy in knowing
Always that you,
My sweet,
Are mine.

THE DARKEST FLAME

And wherefore comes this passion of mine?
This thing that heeds not space and time?
It roars amongst my heart's dark flames
This feeling of a thousand names.
I see within a burning love
From dark depths below to heights above
That writhes and rolls in pains of need
That neither man nor distance can impede.
Cold as steel my face implies
My thoughts are plain, yet these are lies.
For in my soul a love does grow,
The seeds of which my lover sowed.

ALICE

A voice of purest harmonies
Is all I know of thee,
That and words so swiftly sent
By electricity.

We meet on desert islands
Within the sea of dreams,
And even though we're far apart
You're close to me, it seems..

Every night I find your words
Upon my silver screen,
I forget myself and fall into
A wonderland with thee.

Alice, you are my favourite friend
That ne'er have I met,
And when your birthday comes around
I'm the best gift you'll get!

CARLA

Flying from the mountain's cliff
Across the deep lagoon,
I fly by night and close
My eyes in memories of you.

I see in starlit wonder
The beauty of your lips,
Such soft and warm sweet petals
The wine of which I sip.

Now diving through the ocean blue
A silence fills my mind.
The only sound your soothing voice,
So generous and kind.

A symphony of starlight
Bathes my weeping soul,
Your love shines on me from above
And shields me from the cold.

The soft warm rustling of your hair
brings to my face a smile,
The loveliness that shines in you
Makes this wait worthwhile.

DESTINY

In shining signs of destiny
I ride along the flowing winds
That blow me back in ecstasy
As thoughts of freedom
Exist within my mind.

Rose lightning lights my night
In leaping sparks of silence
I ask you where my spirit lies
And rise into the setting light
Of soulful sincerity.

The raining streets beneath the lamps
Reflect the smile upon my lips
In thinking thoughts of silken dew
Running free around my eyes
I feel your closeness next to me.

TE EXTRAO

Mi Corazon es triste
Porque no estas aqui.
Eres mi dia y mi noche,
Yo vivo para ti.

Mi alma tiene frio
Necesita tu calor
Tus ojos de cafe
Tu perfecta amor.

Eres en mis sueos
Cada noche que viene,
Tu belleza infinita
Que mi corazon tiene.

Eres mi perfecta
No hay mejor que tu,
Te digo tres palabras
Siempre I love you.

THE STATION PIGEON

O single star who shines so bright
In sparkling grace, in my mind's night.
There was a time not long ago
Alone you lit my clouded soul.
But then at once
Was something strange
There blew sweet-scented winds of change.
The hanging clouds did drift away
And yet my single star you stay.
Surrounded by a thousand lights
That shine and change what once was night.
Yet still amidst these sirens' calls
You shine the brightest
Of them all.

SUNRISE

A soft luminous ocean
Of light laps against
The shores of reality.
A cup of liquid fire
Is tilted gradually
To melt the crystal ice,
Sparkling in one still
Moment of eternal time.
Each footstep cracks
The frozen earth beneath
The woman's feet.
Alone she kneels amongst
The moon-chilled plants
Removes her trowel,
Begins to dig.
Her face so old and frail
But yet her glinting eyes
In silent joy reflect
The beauty of sunrise

TIKA

I walk upon the rocky beach
The stones beneath are sapphire blue
Reflecting sparkles from above
I stare at them and notice you.
I reach down low to hold you tight
Yet in my way the stones of distance
Stop me.

But then I think,
All I see is but reflection
The real beauty shines above!
As I gaze up into the sky
A single star lights my eyes
I lie upon the cold stones beneath
And watch.

Time passes, eyes grow heavy
The light seems so far away.
I reach out to this shining star
I call out asking where you are?
My eyelids shut, darkness surrounds
Yet as my body grows slowly weaker
I begin to dream of Tika..

WORDS

as hot as liquid fire
the flame that they
do light,
and yet so cold
as bitter ice their
sharp and senseless bite.
my beating heart
its pace so fast
knew all before
twas said.
and yet for moments
infinite yet single
the beating stopped.
the floor that once
had seemed so sure
had dropped.
I knew then
what death must be.
a silent falling
drop of rain,
the child of a
clouded soul
fell to earth
and left a hole
that surely will remain.
